St. Therese of Lisieux Junior DOK chapter received our charter in 2014 with 10 charter members. We follow the same Rule of Life as the adult Daughters of the King, which is to make a promise of daily prayer and service to our Lord Jesus Christ, to be Christ’s faithful servants and to extend His Love to all people, and to work to grow in our Christian faith and commitment through fellowship, prayer, and Bible study.

Our chapter gives us a special opportunity to grow in love and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, while serving our church and community. We experience the joy of belonging to Christian fellowship with friends and mentors. We study the Bible, discuss our faith, support each other, and pray for the needs of our community and our world.

For His Sake

I am but one,

But I am one.

I cannot do everything,

But I can do something.

What I can do,

I ought to do.

What I ought to do,

By the grace of God, I will do.

Lord, what will You have me do?

Before committing to joining the Jr DOK, the girls are given an opportunity to discern their interest by engaging in a series of eight information/study sessions. After their decision to join, they participate in the Service of Admission where they receive their Junior DOK cross, a silver cross with the initials FHS – For His Sake – as a symbol of their promise to pray, serve, and reach out in love to all.

The Junior Daughters of the King is open to any baptized girl age 7 to 21. At present we meet monthly on Sunday afternoons. Activities include study of the Bible and the Book of Common Prayer, service projects, other interests and ideas suggested by the girls themselves as well as special events to which we are invited, such as a retreat or Diocesan meeting.

If you have a daughter or know a girl who might be interested in the Junior DOK, we would love to have her visit our meetings to learn more about our chapter.
